Anger: The Essential Element
What is the difference between a good verdict and a Grand Slam Verdict? Simple: Anger.
A Grand Slam Verdict is one where the jurors have had enough. They NEED to make a statement. And they know – from your voir dire – that the language of justice is money. So they make their statement through the dollars they award.
Many lawyers can put on an angry show. But only a highly skilled, well-practiced trial master can allow the jury to get angry on its own terms. And to appreciate the timing of that anger, i.e. to make sure the jury anger reaches its climax in rebuttal.
This takes practice. Lots of practice.
No anger, no money. Lots of anger, lots of money.
